Mixol tints are binder free paste, and meant to be mixed into other paint to adjust colors.  Mixol is not my favorite brand for theater because of their price.

Mixol tints are the more expensive brand on the market, but they have colors that can be mixed into non-latex paints.  If you need that function, they’re great.  If you don’t they are overpriced for theater use.  Also, if you buy the complete set, you get 24 total and about half of them are shades of brown.

There is a reason for that though.  Mixol is most often used in industrial applications.  It's flexibility in what it can be mixed with is matched by the fact its non-organic pigment is very resistant to fading.  It is great when used in a silicate paint outside on your new gazebo.

What has me confused, is this is the tint that Rosebrand chooses to carry.  I find it too expensive and just plain overkill for theatrical purposes.
